Adobe released today the beta edition of AIR, Adobe’s platform for creating multiplatform Rich Internet Applications with offline capabilities previously codenamed Apollo. The beta release of the platform adds the ability for developers to create AIR applications using HTML and AJAX without using Flash if the developer wishes to do so. The other major addition to this new release is support for SQLite, a feature notably used by Google’s competitor technology Google Gears. AIR developers could now make use of the recently released Flex 3 open source platform to develop Flash RIA. Learn more about this new released and download the demo from Adobe’s official website.
