Chumby Available For Preorder

The Chumby Store has started receiving preoders for Chumby, the Flash Lite powered Internet widget device. Chumby is equipped with a 320×240 pixel touch screen, WIFI, squeeze sensor, motion sensor, 350 MHz ARM processor, 64 MB SDRAM, 64 MB NAND flash ROM, and stereo speakers. It is the first consumer device to be released with the Flash Lite 3 player preinstalled, the latest update to the mobile version of the Flash player that is capable of delivering high quality video in the FLV video format. Wacom Introduces Mass Market Tablet: Bamboo

Wacom Bamboo

Wacom Asia announced a new Vista-enabled pen tablet to be released by the end of this month in Japan. The good-looking bamboo tablet comes with standard tablet features at 7.8 x 7.3 inch dimensions and will support all the new features of Windows Vista such as handwriting recognition and gesture control. The Wacom Bamboo pen tablet will be sold in Japan for ¥8,980 (about RO30/ $100). Read more about it at Engadget.

Wacom Releases Intuos3 4x6

Wacom released yesterday a portable edition of its Intuos3 pen tablet series, the Intuos3 4×6. The new pen tablet provides 20% more active area than the Intuos3 4×5 and has been designed to easily fit into a designer’s laptop case. The Intuos3 4×6 is also fully compatible with the pen functionality to be featured in Microsoft’s upcoming OS Windows Vista. The Intuos3 4×6 could be purchased at the price of $229.95. ZScanner 700 - a new 3D Lazser Scanne

Z Corporation revealed at Siggraph 2006 an interesting product called ZScanner 700, a handheld 3D scanner that uses laser to capture 3D objects as a polygon mesh in real time. The press release states the scanner could be used in all sorts of industries including digital media, gaming and animation. This new 3D toy comes at the price of $39,900. Sony has announced today the CyberShot DSC-R1, its new SLR-like high-end digital camera . The powerful DSC-R1 has an APS-C size 10 megapixel CMOS sensor, 5x optical zoom, top mounted rotatable 2″ LCD display, dual memory card slots (Memory Stick Pro and CompactFlash Type II), and full manual controls.
